Turning 30: Quotes That Sum Up Exactly How It Feels for Me

If you can withstand the AI slop on Pinterest nowadays, it’s still a fun place to find inspiration, motivation, or a new perspective. In this post, I’m sharing quotes from my personal “words” Pinterest board that I’ve been contributing to for nearly ten years. Yes, it’s one of my most prized possessions.

These quotes represent some of my feelings surrounding turning thirty!

I always feel so blessed to have a June birthday because the weather is beautiful, and this year was no different. After I quit alcohol in 2019, I lost 99% of my friends, and it wasn’t until last year, 2025, that I felt I’d finally made a new, real friend. Of course, friendships are more difficult to obtain as you get older, especially for me not being as social as a sober person.

So this year, when my two new-ish friends planned something special for me, it really did feel like I was entering a new era of life - one that reconnected me to childlike joy, the freedom to be myself, and the blessing of having positive relationships in your life.

Also, as many thirty-somethings are, I’m still figuring out my career and whether or not I’d like to start a family, and in some ways I feel like I’m starting over.

From what I can tell, this uncertainty is pretty common, but what I appreciate about uncertainty at thirty versus uncertainty at twenty is the number of things I do actually have figured out now.

It makes what feels uncertain a lot easier to deal with!

So, here are a few quotes that you might find thought-provoking or helpful too.
